Week 2

 

Game 1: TBD 6 vs. EVE Mechanical 3

 

After an extended hiatus, we finally got to play our second set of games played. For the east coast game, we had TBD (come on, someone sponsor these poor fellows) defeat Eve Mechanical 6-3.

 

Val Borschevsky led the way with 1-2, Prender and Josy had 1-1, with newcomer Ty Curie getting the first of his career. Turbo and Hammer also chipped in with goals. Stinger, Sovy and Neilly had apples.

 

Kinger had 1-2 in reply for Eve Mechanical, with Cap’n Barrett 1-1 and Norris Jarvie with 1-0. Icon had 2 helpers; Favot had 1.

 

Game 2: VolpeAlcorn 5 vs. Four Star 2

 

Going through this game sheet, I am seeing a lot of names crossed out. Not sure if we could even call the team iced as VolpeAlcorn. Maybe they opened a new branch called VolpeAlcornSpares, because there was a lot of new faces.

 

With that being said, Nik Borschevsky did have himself a game. Nik scored 4 times (one was an empty netter) and had 1 assist. Jesse Smith helped out with a goal and an apple.

 

Diamond had 3 assists, Eyskoot 2, and Mike Volpe had 1.

 

Offensive force Erik Lebar and Kevin Wise both had 1-1 for Four Star. Reed Smith and Marc Lazzaro had an assist each.

 

 

Game 3: Krown Rust 6 vs. Kemp Financial Group 4

In the Battle of the (Perceived) Big Dogs, Krown Rust came back to beat KFG 6 to 4.

 

Krown Rust was down 2-1 after the first and stormed back with 4 second period goals. Ryan Dasilva led the way from the back end, scoring twice and added 2 assists. Kalpy had 1-2, Cade 5030 had 1-1, CD19 and Laner had 1-0. McGinn had 2 apples.

 

For Kemp Financial, Paul O’Doherty had 2 gees, with Bob Cranston and Harlan Pickrell also scoring. RLJ had 2 apples, Matty Harrison, Sean Malone and Ryan Mulcahy had 1 each.

 

Game 4: Neighbour Media 12 vs. Chase Contracting 4

 

Ekk. The West Coast game turned into a blood bath. Not sure if Chase needs to build a fence at their blueline or what, but they re going to have to figure out a way to keep the puck out of their own zone.

 

Looks like every player on Neighbour scored at least 1 point, with Brad scoring 4 and adding 3 helpers. Quintos had 2 goals and 3 apples, Brock had 1-5, Ashton Waters had 1-3 and Doaker had 1-2. Craigie Johnson also chipped in with a goal and Hoguey had 1 assist.

 

Joner had 2-2 in the losing cause, Spenny Wyatt had 1-1 and Burlon 1-0. Larry Volpe had 2 apples from the point, Banjo, Gav Spence and Dougie Holden had 1 each.

 

Summer Update

 

The draft will be September 7th at Castle John's in Newmarket. Draft will start at 4pm SHARP!

 

We have chosen the draft order early this year to see what kind of choas we can create.

 

The current draft order is:

 

1) Brock

2) Carson

3) Chase 

4) Malone

5) Diamond

6) Neilly

7) Steener

8) Barrett

 

The season will start September 14th. 

 

I'll try to update this as much as possible inthe next week weeks.

League Rules:

 

1) Show up for the game. Pretty self-explanatory.

2) If you can’t make it, let your captain know.

3) Shower. Seriously. You are an adult. Don’t walk stinking.

4) Visit the cubby. As often as you can. You’ll be surprised how nice of guys we actually have in this league.

5) When it’s your turn, bring your share. It’s only fair.

6) Have a back up case. You’ll be a HERO.

 

 

 

 

Cubby Rules:

 

1) No girls

2) Make sure your team has drinks

3) Don’t drink another team’s last bevy

4) No girls

5) Keep it CLEAN. Every team should clean up their mess

6) No fighting

7) If you do need to bring a girl, make sure this is approved by cubby management.

 

 

Rememeber that the cubby starts immediately after the east coast game and will end once the last bevy is consumed. Your captain should have volunteered themselves to bring the first week. The weather looks fairly decent, but make sure to dress appropriately. Toques, mitts and boots don't make you a a wimp.
